At Blue House Bakeshop, we make all kinds of desserts for weddings large and small all over the state of Vermont and beyond. We love working with couples to achieve a unique vision for their wedding dessert table. From large tiered wedding cakes, to a variety of different mini desserts, your imagination is the limit. Tastings…this is the fun part
There are two ways to do a tasting. You can either pick up a to-go box of samples to enjoy at home, or book a sit-down tasting session. While to-go tastings are available to any prospective couple, sit-down tastings are reserved for couples who have already booked their wedding with us. In the winter months, we host sit-down tastings at the Vermont Wedding Studio in Shelburne, and in the spring/summer/fall we host them al fresco at our home. Partners are welcome to come as a twosome, or bring one or two other taste testers for more input. Samples range from $8-$15, and each is at least 3 full sized servings. You can try as many items as you’d like, including custom items, and whatever you don’t finish at the tasting, you can take home and share with your family and friends. In-person tastings usually take between 30 minutes to an hour.
Wedding cakes
A lovely wedding tradition, and the perfect centerpiece for your dessert table. There are 10 different cake sizes ranging from 8 servings up to 108 servings. Check out our CAKE SIZE GUIDE to determine what size cake is right for your wedding size, budget, and desired aesthetic.
custom designs
We absolutely love creating unique designs for wedding cakes. If you have a specific design in mind, we would be happy to recreate it using our own artistic style and abilities. Prices for custom designs are dependent on the amount of labor associated with creating the design. Please submit an inquiry to get a cost estimate. Do keep in mind that we do not work with fondant or sugar paste - just delicious buttercream!
Inedible Add-ons
There is no extra charge for adding fresh flowers or cake toppers. These are things that you would need to provide and have delivered to the venue for us to place onto the cake at the time of delivery and set up. Any time spent styling these items would be covered in the delivery fee.
Delivery
We deliver goodies for weddings all over the state of Vermont and surrounding areas for a standard rate based on time and mileage. Deliveries over 2 hours one-way may incur an additional fee for overnight lodging if needed. We offer both drop-off deliveries or full service set up and styling deliveries. Please note, we do not provide display pieces such as cake stands or platters - we recommend asking your venue if they have any on site, and if not, sourcing them yourselves from friends/family or even thrifting them secondhand! Picking up desserts from us in Shelburne, VT is also an option, though we strongly recommend adding delivery for orders that include tiered wedding cakes.
BOOKING
Because we can only take on a limited number of weddings per season, we require a non-refundable deposit of $100 and a signed electronic contract to hold the date for your wedding in our calendar. Vermont wedding dates in May through October fill up very quickly, so we recommend reaching out a year or more in advance.
